    Article summary

This article outlines the process for importing your YouTube catalog into eddy.app with just a few clicks.

Depending on your distribution set-up and the method of YouTube income reporting, this step might not always be necessary. Importing YouTube content into your eddy.app Catalog is essential in two specific scenarios:

    1. Your YouTube videos are assigned unique ISRCs, different from those used for track sales in your reports. Detailed instructions are provided in the first section of this article.

    2. You have a direct deal with YouTube and access to the YouTube CMS. Guidance for this scenario is available in the second section of this article.

    1. Import YouTube Content via URL/Video ID

To ensure video sales are correctly matched to entries in your eddy.app Catalog when unique ISRCs are assigned by distributors, follow these steps:

    A. Use YouTube Search

    1. Naviguate to Catalog > Import > Video.

    5. Select the video(s) you wish to import and fill in the artist and ISRC fields.

    6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Confirm import.

    • Custom URLs (like www.youtube.com/@atlanticrecords) are not compatible with our content search. Ensure you use a URL containing the actual video/channel ID.
    • Remember to use the video ISRC as mentioned in your distributor's sales reports.

    B. Bulk Create Videos

For initial imports involving numerous videos, the bulk creation feature in eddy.app allows you to streamline the process. Utilize a file format akin to the YouTube video report. Ensure your file includes the following details:

    • Digital Release Date (column renamed to “time_published”)
    • ISRC (column remaned to isrc in lowercase)
    • Title (column renamed to "video_title")
    • YouTube Asset ID (column renamed to "asset_id")
    • YouTube Video ID (column renamed to "video_id")
    • YouTube Channel Name (column renamed to "channel_display_name")
    • YouTube Channel ID (column renamed to "channel_id")

File format: The file can include additional data, and column order is flexible. However, It must be saved as a CSV file, with columns separated by commas and the character encoding set to UTF-8.

After preparing your file, you can import it via the VIDEO report option in eddy.app. Note that this feature is accessible only to users with Indie plans or higher.

    Distributed by Believe?

If you are working with Believe, request a "track export" for "Video content" from your account manager. The export should include the information specified above.

    2. YouTube Partners

This section applies to users with a direct deal with YouTube (e.g., YouTube Partners) who have access to Youtube's CMS.

YouTube videos generate revenue through various assets (image, sound recording, music composition, etc.), each with a unique Asset ID.

With eddy.app, you can account for revenue from your YouTube content (music & videos) and user-generated content (UGC).

Depending on the assets you monetize, you may need to import both the Video and Assets reports from the YouTube Studio Content Manager. The Video report is necessary for monetizing your own videos, while both reports are required for monetizing underlying assets.

    1. VIDEO Report

    • Download the Video report from the YouTube Studio Content Manager(more info here).
-In eddy.app, navigate to Catalog > Import > Video and select the Import Google's Video Report option.
    • The import process will complete in a few minutes.

    2. ASSET Report.

If you monetize your own videos and UGC, import both the Videos and Assets reports.

    Important
    1. Import your catalog before the Assets report. eddy.app links Asset IDs to tracks in your repertoire using ISRCs for certain asset types.
    2. Follow the steps in the previous section to import the Google Videos report.
    • Download the full Assets report from the YouTube Studio Content Manager (more info here).
    • Go to eddy.app > Catalog > Import > Release and select the Import Google's Assets Report button.
    • The import of your assets will be completed shortly.
